Michael Bloss, klimapolitischer Sprecher der Grünen im EU-Parlament sowie Grüner Verhandlungsführer zur EU-Strommarktreform, kommentiert die heutige politische Einigung zur EU-Strommarktreform im Industrieausschuss:

Wir haben im Parlament heute einen Durchbruch zur Strommarktreform geschafft, während der Rat noch herumeiert. Das zeigt: Wir sind handlungsfähig und liefern ab für die Bürgerinnen und Bürger.

Jetzt erwarten wir, dass alle politischen Gruppen den Deal auch umsetzen. Die Abstimmung im Industrieausschuss in zwei Wochen ist der finale Schalter.

Wir haben mit der EVP verhandelt und einen Kompromiss in der Mitte gefunden. Wir erwarten, dass die EVP diesen politischen Willen auch nächste Woche im Plenum zeigt und für mehr Klimaschutz in der Natur stimmt. Das ist eine Chance, zu beweisen, dass sie konstruktive Politik machen wollen, statt destruktive Blockade.

Michael Bloss, leading climate politician for the Greens in the EU Parliament and Green negotiator for the EU electricity market reform, comments on today's political agreement on the reform of the EU electricity market design in the ITRE Committee:

We have achieved a breakthrough on the EU electricity market reform in Parliament today, while the Council is still sitting on its hands. This shows: We are ready to act and deliver for the citizens.

Now we expect all political groups to follow through on the deal. The vote in the Industry Committee in two weeks is the final switch.

We have negotiated with the EPP and found a compromise on the middle ground. We expect the EPP to show this political will also next week in plenary and vote for more climate protection in nature. This is their chance to prove that they can be constructive, not obstructive.
